    Claying Question

    Jimmy
I noticed when you were detailing Todd's car that you clayed the car before the swirl removal. Why? Wouldn't the various steps of polish strip the contaminants anyway?

the whole point of clay is to clean the paint so your products can do their job in the most effective manner.

A swirl remover or glaze creates a layer over the paint, you'd essentially be claying that layer of polish and not the actual paint/clear

Claying the first step removes everything, so all the other steps will be that much brighter / cleaner.

    that's my take on it
