    Hey you supercharged guys....

I've been researching this for almost 2 years now. I will install one this winter but here is my issue. Paxton or VMP. I THINK I had it all figured out and I was going to go with Paxton until a buddy took me for a ride in his Roush GT. wow was that fun.... and now I'm not sure again.

I know I might be asking for a lot... does anybody have a Vortech/Paxton (or even procharger) that would be willing to let me go for a ride with them? Of course I would be willing to travel.

I can read the forums for days...but I think real world experience would be the best way for me to know for sure what way to go.

If anybody has an opinion, I would be glad to listen to them too.... I know the debate will never end.

    Reasons I'm thinking Paxton:
    1. cost
    2. room to grow (someday I plan to build my motor) I know the Paxton can get up to 1000HP
    3. able to stay cooler after several WOT pulls
    4. lighter
    5. I can keep my engine bay looking the way it is now....(see below).
    6. quieter
    7. should do better at the drag strip (even though I only go 5-6 times a year)

Lastly, what type of car would be faster from a roll (say 60mph) Paxton or Roush? Given everything is equal.

    Thanks!

Sounds like you only really street the car....don't do alot of drag racing or auto cross.

    VMP hands down.

In my opinion Positive displacement blower > Centrifugal. VMP will be MUCH more fun on the street, easier to install, easier to tune and doesn't require you to rev that motor to the moon to make power.
Oh yeah, then there's the whole torque thing too, PD blower will always make better torque, especially VMP.

I realize guys make great power on the with Paxton, and companies like Beefcake have some great kits you can buy BUT, in a street car I'd always choose PD blower over a roots style.

    Good luck!

Not sure if you've already made a decision on this but I'd highly recommend Whipple as a choice too.
Ford uses the Whipple kits in their Ford Racing kits, and I love mine. Fun to drive regardless of RPM.

Mine: '13 Mustang GT Sterling Gray, MT82, Recaros, Track Pk. 2.3L Whipple, VMP heat exchanger, 608 RWHP, 517 RWTQ.
    Mine: '06 Tundra 4x4 V8 AccessCab. Silver. LT265/75R16's, leveled w/Bilstein 5100's
    Hers: '08 GT500 White/blue stripes, '13-'14 2.3L TVS & injectors, 656 RWHP, 661 RWTQ.
    Hers: '03 Forester, green, 5-speed.
