I saw you there snapping away with the camera. Wish I had known it was you, would introduced myself....
What kind of camera did you get? I'm buying anew one too. About to pull the trigger on a Nikon 5200.

Doesn't Chevy make the best cars still? Kinda the same thing. It all depends who you talk to.
The heavy hitters in the "pro-sumer" arena are still Nikon and Canon, with Sony's new NEX technology cameras coming up fast. I decided on Nikon because the Nikons seem a little more robust (more solid feeling). They're slightly heavier -- the Canons feel kinda toy-like in comparison. That's not to say that Canon isn't as good -- they're fantastic -- it's just personal preference. Lastly, I have friends and relatives with Nikons, so I can borrow lenses, equipment, etc.
(Also the last SLR (35mm film!)I bopught was a Nikon and it still works after 18 years.)
Gotta say my old 35mm Nikon from the 70's is still clicking away, though I never really use it any more. But my DSLR is a Canon and I'll be replacing it with another Canon soon as I have 4 lenses for Canon EOS in the closet. Never really had complaint with the Canon DSLR and great pictures, but the electronics is getting a bit tired now and then.
