Last year a few of us got together and drove over the this BBQ fest. It features a car show and there were a lot of excellent cars. It was a good time, and I know there’s several more NHMCers planning on making the run this year. It takes place May 31st and you can pre-register at their website:
http://www.nhupinsmokebbq.com
The car show is free to enter and car show entrants receive two free general admission event passes. (normally $10)
If you want to take part in the People’s Choice BBQ Rib judging, it costs $15.

Who's going? We should start planning meet ups and times.

If I'm not working up at the cottage, I'm in. I have to figure out what/when things can be done first though.

Ahem.

I don't mind short ventures off topic, but this thread is derailing. Lets go back to discussing the Monadnock BBQ and Car Show.

So I was just looking at the site. If we bring the car its free to get in. For $15 you get "People's choice Judging". I'm going to assume that only gets you the ability to judge and not to get food.
Is it like the Harpoon event where the participants are also selling BBQ too?
I think that I'm in.

. Last year the participants did not sell food, permits and licenses are needed. Various vendors sell BBQ though and it was excellent.

So it's more like Nashua Rotary at the Bud plant Rock-n-Rib Fest? The "BBQers" are in one area and places like T-Bones, KC Ribs, Fire Flies are in another area selling?
I'd still be up for going to the car show, and free admission I'm good with that.

I don't know how you'd be able to judge without sampling the BBQ, so I'd assume you can get small tastes from the BBQ Contestants. For full meals, you'll have to buy from one of the actual vendors.

ALAS -- after starting this thread, it turns out that I have a scheduling conflict. So I won't make it this year -- which makes me sad.

Reading Bruce's Book again?

On point. SO who is committing to this event at this time? Anyone?
It's about 2 weeks away.
