&^*% them. Damn farmers... shouldn't they growing crops or something instead of spreading LIES around....?

And which farmers? Do some farmers disagree? Do you have to reach a certain level of farmer tradesman before you can forecast weather?

You've got it wrong, Jim! This is FOR farmers, not BY farmers. All you have to be to forecast the weather is an idiot! Nothing to do with farming! :D

WOOOOOHOOOOOO. It better be cold this year. I'm getting sick of swimming across the lake and not walking across the lake in the winter. And hopefully the snow will stick this year. I'm sick of it snowing and the next day no snow!!!

Wait, there's a science to weather? When did that start?
I have a Doctorate and I say LET IT SNOW!! How's that for science?

Siily Todd, this is where the science comes in. The Wooly Caterpillar.

Well Todd, you may not like this winter forecast. Posted today 10/10/13.
Well now "experts" come in at both ends of forecasting. We'll see.

I have seen more than the usual number of woolies this year.
They all have predicted a mild winter.
I don't believe it, but I always expect the worst anyway.;)

I measure our winter by how much gas I use in the snow blower. So far I have had to fill it up once and fill up my 2 gallon can. Which means to me, we have had an average winter......

I know its far away...week from tomorrow (2/4 )we are supposed to get whacked pretty good. Let's see what the forecast has in store

Will be interesting to see how this weekend plays out 2/1. As of Tue 1/28:
WHDH channel 7 has Sat partly sunny and 51 degrees.
http://www.whdh.com/weather

Yet FOX 25 has temp at 39 degrees with snow/rain
http://www.myfoxboston.com/weather

Both above forecast are usually for Boston area, so N/W will be a colder forecast. We'll see.

I never look ahead at the weather. Always look at right now and what has been. It's the ONLY way the weather people are correct. Just take each day as it comes and enjoy every minute of it (unless you are at work, I hate when people come in to tell me "its a great day outside, you should be out there enjoying it!!!")

I would need to look ahead to see if I need to buy 6 gal of milk & 4 breads. lol

I like to take a general look ahead to plan whether I do yard work, cut trees out back for firewood, get more gas for snowblower etc. Or when it's warmer know if I'm take vert out for cruz to MANN's Orchard.

I try to ALWAYS have that in the house. You never know when a meteor will hit your town and zombies will come out to try to take over the grocery stores.

I think you'll be using some gas within the next week. I hate heavy wet stuff. Media not yet mentioning HEAVY snow often = power outages for some.

hope Todd has time to load up on milk & Bacon..

So far this winter vs last winter.
Last year at this date: 2/4/13 Boston officially had 9.4 snow
This year to date 2/4/14: Boston had 35.1 snow
This is before today's snow (2/5).
Todd you may get your wish for more.
Sun/Mon maybe more snow & next Thur/Fri more snow.
Tell us when you've had enough please.

Good news today snow not as heavy wet stuff thought we'd get

I will never get sick of snow. It's my work that I'm getting sick of!!! They tell us we can't come in, or HAVE to leave and then they give us a choice of either not getting paid for when we are supposed to be there or we take vacation time. So the days that the snow started late, we had to call people who were planning on coming in and cancel them. So at this rate, I won't get any vacation this year!!!

Ok someone agree Almanac was correct so it'll stop!

Ian, used up your gas in snowblower yet?

A brief warm up this week then they say back to winter end of Feb & early March.

Enough, I'll never get my car trailer pulled out.

I fear with all the snow on people's roofs, and rain on Friday, lots of weight up there. I cleaned my deck roof off last night.

Then spring flooding maybe a concern.

Warning .. look at the snow on your roofs.

With rain on Friday & looking at next weeks weather, there could be 2 maybe 3 wintery storms coming in some form or another.

O, I thought you were talking your gas can to fill up the snowblower. If you went through 3 of those you NEED to get a bigger one!!! That makes more sense.
I just fill it up after each storm so I don't run out in the back yard and have to go all the way around to grab gas. I'm lazy that way.

Well, if Almanac got the winter right, do we wanna believe the summer 2014 forecast? Hope so.

Some positive news just for Ian:

April and May will be slightly cooler than normal, with near-normal rainfall.

Summer will be hotter than normal, with slightly below-normal rainfall. The hottest periods will occur in early to mid-July, late July, and mid-August.

September and October will be warmer than normal, with rainfall slightly above normal in the north and a bit below in the south.

So it's looking like good dry hot conv weather we can hope.

I don't want a hotter than normal summer. That sucks for my car: black interior and no AC. Anything above 80 is too hot for me, I melt in too hot temps.

bring on the heat!!!!!! IT would be nice if mother nature extended our summer into late sept since it's apparent we aren't having a spring!!
