Well folks, I just called Days Inn in Carlisle PA # 717-258-4147. For June 6th (thurs) - 9th. 11 rooms left for NHMC. I just booked one of the 12. She said no one else booked yet.
Time a few days later this year, maybe a warmer time. Either way a fun time if you like cars, 3,000 plus last year. :)

Just talked to Jen's Uncle and he's going to join me in the treck down. When I get back from the lake I'll make the call.
Can't wait to go again!! Now just have to get the windshield straightened out so I can take the Mustang

Whats the room rate for this?
I am strongly considering on going to this event.... However, I would be looking to split a room with anyone who may be interested. PM me if interested and maybe we can make some arrangements.

There is always folks looking to save and double up. Rooms with double bed. You have to mention NHMC rooms. Looks like $135 per nite.

I almost always share room with my brother in-law. On show field there is even a YELLOW mustang club there. Talk Ed into going. Have him take sleeping pills for the ride.
NOTE: when booking, many of us book starting with the Thursday nite because show starts @ 7am Fri morning 6/7. We drive down Thur. 6/6.

Jen's Uncle might be coming with me, but he's not sure. So if you want to share a room that would be cool. I will be calling the next day or two to book no matter.
Have to convince ED to go down!! He would have a field day writing an article for MotorHead. If we install the trailer hitch to my stang, we can put him in the trailer!!!

Bring your own beer is best. They do have a "drive thru" beer store. make sure you clear off either your camera or cell phone of old pics to make room for new ones. Pack both bathing suit & raincoat. The weather temp trend is looking low to mid 80's, perfect. Can't wait. As days get closer, we can chat about a meeting time for folks interested. Usually on Mass Pike Charlton rest area @ 7am. I'm not 100% sure yet if my son meeting & going with me yet.

Also 7am puts us right into rush hour through CT, I don't know about you, but that just seems not so fun. If we leave just a little later, 8am, I think that would be a little easier. Just my opinion.
Looking it up, it takes about 6 1/2 hours from the rest area non-stop. So figure about 7 1/2 hours with gas stops (there will be plenty with me in the pack) and lunch. This will put us in Carlise just around 4pm which I will allow us to check into the hotel, and then head over to the grounds to do what we need to do.

Thinking it's a 7-8 hr trip, maybe little longer for me or anyone towing. That said Hartford is tough to get thru because of morning rush hour. However since it's an ~8 hr ride you're going to hit afternoon rush hour in PA. So pick your posion. Also depending on any road work & construction, it may take longer. So for those that'll need time to reg, go thru field (since it's open on Thur now), or wash and clean cars, ya wanna try to get there as early as possible. But to each his/her own. Some years trip goes easy, some yrs we've hit long backups anywhere along the way.

Not specifically to Carlisle, but I have taken this route before. It's longer but more pleasant. However my personal preference is to take the Mass Pike to the Taconic State Parkway (Exit B2 on the Mass Pike Extension) and take that down to I84. Shorter and even more pleasant and a little cheaper on tolls. It also avoids Albany.

Hey guys,
Putting on my former club secretary hat only for a sec.(cuz Marie does such a great job!). Here's directions to Carlisle (albeit from Portsmouth, most of it is the same) if anyone is interested or gets separated from the gang. These are last year's directions, so there's the possibility that exit numbers have changed, but I doubt it. It's my 19th trip to the Ford Nationals, only having missed one in 2005. You might say I kinda dig this event!
Jacky Brown
I-95 South to
495 So.
Rte. 290 West
Rte. 90 (the Mass Pike) and Charlton rest stop
Take Exit 9 Sturbridge off Rte. 90 onto Rte. 84 West
Stay on 84 W. This is one of the longest routes of the trip. It will take you through Conn., into New York State (enter around Brewster ~50 mi in NY) and finally into PA at Port Jervis. Stay on 84 W, until you hit Rte. 380. ~390mi.
Get on Rte. 380 NORTH (yes North, its only for about 5 miles) heading toward Scranton. Until you see signs for Rte. 81 South (south-west really), that should be exit 54 off 380, I think, but just watch for Rte. 81 So.
Stay on Rte. 81 for the next longest leg of the trip. This is the route that our Days Inn exit is on. ~165 mi.
Take Exit 45 off I-81.
Bottom of the ramp, take a LEFT onto Walnut Bottom Road. Go through one or two traffic lights, until you get to an intersection with a Bonanza Restaurant on the right. This is Alexander Spring Road. Take a right.

Yes it's June. But the very beginning of June. The earliest that I remember having shirts was at the father's day shows. And that was in the middle of June. A lot of times we didn't even get them until right before the show too.
And like then the shirts should be in around mid-June. But not before Carlisle.

Perhaps, but having them ready for Carlisle was requested way back at the Christmas Party. Plenty of lead time if someone cared to respond to members' preferences.

I think George you should take over the clothing aspects of the club In your case just go out buy a white t-shirt and a Magic Marker write NHMC & 25 Years On it And all will be right with the world.I can only hope we get them while your at Carlisle And we sell them at cruise night while your gone :p
It's June. Should we start working on shirts for next year NOW?
Since art was done awhile ago. A guess at a date? June, July??

Maybe I'll spend ALL my shirt money @ Carlise!!! And if I can find a "man purse" for you I'll pick one up.
I've already won a show @ a welding supply shop in Hooksett in which the next year my car was the feature car on shirts. So I have plenty. BTW I don't own a "white T-shirt". All colored.

Bruce -- Rick, Marie and I put many hours every week into this club, and this comment is completely unfounded (just because we can't get the shirts here before Carlisle??; Really??) There was no need to post a comment like this on the Forum. If you, or anyone, has an issue with the way the club is being run, man-up and speak to Rick or me about it. The Forum is NOT the place for unconstructive criticism like this...

Randy, I'm sorry if it came across that way. Truly sorry, and I mean it. I was just pointing out that some folks seem surprised that this was an issue, but it should not come as a surprise that people wanted the shirts for Carlisle as many members had clearly expressed that multiple times 6 months before Carlisle. (In actuality they also requested not just shirts but other items as well.) I had no intent to criticize you, Rick or Marie or any other individual, and I have none now. My intent was to point out that no one should be surprised if people are disappointed, and I don't feel it is appropriate to pretend that it has not been an on-going issue/request for months. I find it very frustrating when that happens as it makes me feel no one is listening, and I probably worded my post poorly due to that frustration. Let me say it very clearly. I did not intend any personal criticism of Rick, Marie or Randy - I consider you all my friends and hope that has not changed. People have heard me speak of this at various times, and none can say that I ever once mentioned anyone's name when speaking of being disappointed about the situation. In point of fact, I do not even know who orders things like this for the club. I never said I thought I could do better, because I know I don't have the skill or the time to do better. I'm not looking to burn bridges or make enemies here, nor is there anyone's hand I would not want to shake nor anyone I would not wish to greet. I stand by my expression of frustration in general, but also issue a full, complete and sincere apology to anyone who felt singled out by the wording. That was absolutely not intended.

THREE MORE DAYS TO GET READY!!!!!
I've been told that my car should be ready Tuesday night!! So new windshield in place, new heater, and my XM radio should be up for the trip down. I can't wait to get away and hang out with everyone down there. Looks like top down weather heading down and back which is great.
Now the hard part, packing the trunk and all the extra batteries for my camera. Not to mention, I hope that the hotel has the Bruins game on Friday!!

To all newbies going. Bring your own "hard liquor", if you choose, a dry town. Beer is sold there. Someone is bringing some cigars.
Price of gas is cheaper in PA, reg gas $3.25 now. Place on show field to wash cars (free) but bring own soap/bucket. Weather is looking good.
After delivering PFH, yesterday I finally got my vert out of my trailer to clean up. Two days to do it. Can't wait to drive it.

Weather is showing a sunny ride down on Thursday, no problem. Rain in Boston area Fri-Sat. I think Carlisle is to far west for the next coastal storm. Other than a spot t-storm in Carlise Fri/Sat, Sunday's ride back also looks ok. Weather should NOT be an issue for trip down or back!

Well all made it safe. The actual car show is Sat, and should be no rain then.
The story on the BIG traffic delay we (my son & I) got. Chris has a CB is his truck. Also my brother in-law Art was actually on the beginning of the bridge and spoke with a bridge worker there.
A bridge worker said a worker was clipped in but losthis footing and fell and swung down below slamming into a support of some kind. Was in critical condition and was taken out by Med Flight.
Problem #2 the truck stopped just behind us said his son was a state trooper and told him at the scene a troopers car was rear ended.
So best I know, NO ONE drove off bridge.
