Yeah, I got exactly what I wanted for it. Great no bullshit deal -- didn't try to talk me down or anything. Said he wanted it, told me he'd come right up and buy it in cash for my asking price. Worked out for the both of us --I got the money I asked with no dickering, and he got what he considered a "deal" because Terminators are apparently pretty rare near him, so the prices are much higher.
He's a good guy too. No qualms selling it to him, he knows what it is, had dreamed about it for years and could finally get one.

Next in line: Hopefully a nice '69 or '70 convertible.
Of course, I still have the 90 to have fun with -- and if I never find a 69 I really want to pull thr trigger on, I can throw some money at the 90. Or even try to find a really nice 86 GT or Capri 5.0 convertible, which I'd like even more than the 90....
So many possibilities......

I LOVE the previous generation Ford GT's. Think they sold ~ $150,000.
Rick Menard has one, for those that know him. A well balanced car.

That's a beautiful car!!! The new 2017, however, looks (IMHO) like a cross between a Ferrari and the world's ugliest Corvette. Wouldn't mind taking it for a test drive, but I would never own such an ugly car. What every happened to Ford styling? First the nose of the 2015 Stang, now this. D*MN!!! Guess I'm showing my age...

Jim, sorry to hi-jack your thread...maybe you can split it

There are some major differences in the 05/06 GT vs the new 2016 GT

The biggest being the 05/06 was a street car designed for the race track, this new one was a race car designed for the street simply built around that engine. Ford has been racing and testing that ttv6 for over a year now on the race circuits. Now that's it proven, Ford decided design a car around it.

I don't hate it...it's a marvel of engineering...but I love the 05/06 a little more

He actually did appreciate it. The detail job was so good, the dust that had collected over a couple of months came right off and the condition of the car was obvious. I didn't think to give him one of your cards -- but he lives outside of Harrisburg, PA. Kind of a long drive for a detail.....

PS: I like the new GT. To me, it evokes the lines of both the original and 2006 versions, but adds a modern European sharper, pointier flair. And guys.. It SHOULD look European -- do you remember what the original was designed for? To kick Ferrari's ass. In Europe. Against European Cars. Which it did, overwhelmingly. And it looked European then, too -- because form follows function.
Check out the similarities here in the 1966 24hrs of Le Mans:

Ford GTs, Porsche 906, Chaparral 2D, Ferrari 330 P3....

Jim, you looking to restore a 69 vert or one mostly done, driving???

Mostly or all done. I don't have a real garage to work on it, so good condition and reasonably reliable is pretty important. Not looking for a "show car". I'd point to Todd's as an example. (Although Todd did trophy at WoW last year)

Don't really care about how original it is -- good condition survivor, restored driver, modded/resto-mod, whatever. Just want a nice "driver".
Hoping to stay around $15k

That one does have some potential and would be a good project car for someone. Not me. I'm neither a good enough mechanic or interested in doing that much work. (nor do I have a place to keep it long term while working on it)
