With the upgrade kit, the 2015 Mustang HPE700 pumps out 717 horsepower and 632 lb.-ft. of torque, giving it a Hennessey-estimated 0-60 mph time of just 3.6 seconds.

vs Hellcat Dodge Challenger SRT ® hellcat is the most powerful muscle car ever—707 Hp The SRT ® Hellcat is out of the proverbial bag. 707 horsepower.

that guy Hennessy is one of the biggest crooks around

That car can be built in anyone's garage for a fraction of the price.

My thought is no matter who makes upgrades, vendor wise, it'll be available. Mfg vs mfg, competition will be there!

Impressive output regardless who makes it. Although, this isn't really news -- didn't Shelby make a 700hp GT500 Supersnake-based car a few years ago?
Of course you can make an equal or better car in your garage for less. You could build a Mustang to beat the bejeesus out of Ferraris and Lamborghinis too. But that's not the point. You have to have the time, ability, tools and knowledge to do it -- and a garage-build wont be warranteed.

And you can tell Henessey started out doing 'Vettes -- to my eye, that thing has quite a bit of Corvette visual DNA...

My point being, all that's done to THIS particular mustang is a blower, and basic fuel upgrades. That's nothing that' can't be replicated easily by a back yard mechanic with basic handtools.

As for the cosmetic stuff, I'll wait until I see an actual car. The roush prepped car I think is ugly, gotta love fake hood and side scoops.

Can you tell I am not a fan of the looks of the S550? :) Waiting to drive one though till I make my final decision.

I kinda can't believe all the hype that's being made over this crook-modded '15 to put out a not-really-all-that-impressive 717 crank-hp ...

I'm at 591 rwhp (about 680-695 crank-hp) and I'm one of the lower-number blown 5.0's that I've seen.
Many of them are at 625-640 and they survive OK, adding a boost-a-pump and couple other things beyond what I have (things that I will eventually add also ;) )

Hennessey has a HORRIBLE reputation, I wouldn't give that guy ONE red cent ... that car will probably drive twice and then the engine will blow up.
