My daughter just got her first real job and needs a car.

Anyone selling or have a line on a inexpensive used car suitable for daily driving and would be a decent 1st car? Cheap, reliable, decent MPG. Preferably not AWD -- this will be her first winter with her license and I want her to learn to really drive in snow...

Like to spend $5-6k (or less.)

Just sold my 2010 Focus about a month ago, it would've been perfect for her, although it went for $10k so not quite the range you're looking for ...

Congrats on her having her license, and good luck with your search

Jim, I've never been there but my bro-in-law swears by JOK's Auto Sales on Lowell Rd in Hudson. He has gotten 5 cars there for his three daughters and tells me they have fair pricing and stand by the cars they sell. YMMV.

You can always just keep looking on autotrader.com and cars.com ... they have very customizable searches, I was able to find my '06 Tundra for about $2k less than all the other similar ones I was finding ...
